Land Rover Defender 90 – Urban Body Kit & Isle of Man Green Coloured PPF

The Brief

The owner wanted to turn a standard Defender 90 into a head-turning, limited-edition look—complete Urban Automotive body kit and a colour change that still offered rock-solid paint protection. The goal: a show-stopping finish that can shrug off country-lane scratches and city scuffs alike.

Studio Preparation

• Citrus snow-foam, two-bucket wash and iron-removal decontamination
• Light machine polish to level factory clear-coat and improve film bond
• Test-fit and alignment of Urban Automotive bumpers, arches, grille and roof rack before filming
• IPA panel wipe in our 22 °C dust-controlled bay to guarantee flawless adhesion

What We Protected and How We Did It

• All exterior panels & Urban kit: Wrapped in coloured Isle of Man Green XPEL PPF, delivering a deep, paint-like satin sheen while absorbing chips and scratches.
• Contrast elements (roof, bonnet centre, arch inserts): Gloss-black PPF for OEM two-tone flair and added durability.
• Headlamps & fog lights: XPEL Light Protection Film to block pitting and UV fade.
• Door edges & sills: Extra strips to defend against boot scuffs and gravel rash.
  Every pattern was machine-cut in-house; no blades touched the new bodywork.

Results

• Seam-free colour conversion that looks factory-painted but self-heals under heat.
• Contact-angle readings hit 110°, making mud and grit wash straight off.
• Final wipe with Gtechniq C2v3 boosted slickness and added UV stability.
