The Brief

The owner of this Urban-spec Land Rover Defender 110 wanted a complete colour change to the sleek new Mountain Ash Grey shade—without a respray and without sacrificing protection on those wide arches and gloss-black accents. Coloured PPF offered the ideal blend of style and stone-chip armour.

Studio Preparation

• Citrus snow-foam, two-bucket wash and iron fallout removal
• Clay-bar decontamination on all panels and Urban kit components
• Light machine polish to level factory clear-coat for a glass-smooth base
• IPA wipe-down in our 22 °C, dust-controlled bay for flawless film adhesion

What We Protected and How We Did It

• Complete exterior & Urban kit: Wrapped in Mountain Ash Grey XPEL coloured PPF—satin finish, paint-like depth, self-healing surface.
• Contrast roof, bonnet centre & lower cladding: Gloss-black PPF to preserve factory two-tone styling while adding chip resistance.
• Headlamps & fog lights: XPEL Light Protection Film to guard against pitting and UV fade.
• Door edges, handles & sills: Extra strips to stop gravel rash and boot scuffs.

All patterns were machine-cut in-house and edges tucked or wrapped—zero knife marks on paint or plastics.

Results

• Seamless colour conversion that looks factory-painted but self-heals under warmth.
• Satin sheen delivers a modern, stealth aesthetic while shedding mud and grime easily.
• Final top-layer of Gtechniq C2v3 boosted slickness and UV stability.
