Ferrari 296 GTS – Full-Body XPEL Stealth™ PPF Conversion
The Brief
The owner of this brand-new Ferrari 296 GTS wanted something bold: transform the factory gloss finish into a satin, track-weapon look—without a repaint and without sacrificing paint protection. Our answer was a complete XPEL Stealth™ PPF conversion, giving the car a stealthy sheen while guarding every panel from chips and scratches.
Studio Preparation
- Citrus pre-wash, snow-foam bath and safe two-bucket wash
- Iron fallout remover and clay-bar decontamination to purge transport contaminants
- Single-stage polish to perfect the clear-coat and boost metallic depth before filming
- Final IPA wipe in our 22 °C, dust-controlled bay for flawless film adhesion
PPF Application & Technique
- Full exterior panels: Wrapped in XPEL Stealth™ 8 mil, instantly converting gloss to factory-style satin.
- Bicolour racing stripe: Carefully masked and trimmed so the satin film meets the stripe edges without visible overlap.
- Carbon aero pieces & diffuser: Custom bulk installs to keep weave definition crisp.
- Headlights, DRLs & side mirrors: Protected with XPEL Light Protection Film for chip and UV defence.
- Edges were tucked or wrapped wherever possible—no knife lines, no exposed seams.
Results
- Seam-free satin finish that looks OEM and self-heals under heat.
- Gloss readings dropped to the perfect satin range, giving the car a menacing stealth presence.
- Infrared curing activated the film’s topcoat and eliminated minor install marks.
- Final wipe-down with CarPro Reload added hydrophobic slickness for easier washing.
