Porsche 911 GT3 RS – Full Body XPEL Ultimate Plus™ PPF

The Brief

A repeat client took delivery of a brand-new 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS finished in deep gloss black and carbon accents. With track days already on the calendar, he wanted complete peace of mind—zero stone chips, no rubber marks, and paintwork that would stay concours-ready for resale.

Preparation & Paint Correction

1. Two-bucket contact wash using pH-neutral shampoo
2. Ferrous decontamination + clay-bar to remove transport fallout
3. Single-stage gloss enhancement to eliminate micro-marring and refine clarity
4. IPA wipe-down to guarantee perfect film adhesion

All work carried out in our 22 °C, dust-filtered studio.

PPF Installation

• Full exterior panels: Wrapped in XPEL Ultimate Plus™ 8 mil—an optically clear, self-healing film that keeps the gloss factory-fresh.
• Carbon bonnet & roof: Installed using pre-cut templates and hand-wrapped edges, so the exposed carbon weave stays perfectly visible.
• Headlights & DRLs: Covered with XPEL Headlamp Protection to maintain 100 percent light output while blocking chips and UV fade.
• Side sills & rear diffuser: Applied with extra-stretch techniques to armour the high-impact track zones without seams.
• Mirrors, A-pillars, and door edges: Protected with custom bulk pieces laid knife-free for seamless coverage.

Every pattern was machine-cut in-house—no blades ever touched the paint.

Challenges

• Aggressive aero vents on the front wings required custom relief cuts to avoid tension.
• Satin carbon dive-planes needed edge-to-edge coverage without altering the matte sheen—achieved with Ultimate Plus but finished with a satin top-coat sealant.

Results

• 100 % panel coverage with invisible seams and tucked edges.
• Measured gloss increase of +6 GU (Gloss Units) post-installation.
• Film self-healed minor installation swirls under infrared heat within 30 minutes.
• Final wipe with Gtechniq C2v3 to boost hydrophobicity.
